The International Monetary Fund has established a new regional center in Shanghai to further strengthen its engagement and partnership in the Asia-Pacific region.

国际货币基金组织（IMF）宣布在上海成立一个新的IMF区域中心，进一步加强IMF在亚太地区的工作和伙伴关系。

The Shanghai Regional Center will promote research that can inform policies in areas of interest to emerging markets and middle-income countries in Asia Pacific and help deepen the IMF’s dialogue with member countries and other stakeholder in the region, including financial institutions, academics, and think tanks, the IMF and the People’s Bank of China jointly announced at the Lujiazui Forum today.

今日，IMF和中国人民银行在陆家嘴论坛上共同宣布，上海区域中心的建立，将为新兴市场和中等收入国家就其关注领域提供政策参考。区域中心将帮助IMF深化与该地区成员国及其他利益相关方的交流，包括国际金融机构、学术界、智库等。

The center will also facilitate targeted capacity building in the Asia-Pacific region, including through peer-to-peer learning, in cooperation with the China IMF Capacity Development Center. The new center will be co-located with CICDC.

该中心还将与中国-IMF联合能力建设中心（CICDC）开展合作，通过同行学习等方式促进在该地区提供有针对性的能力建设活动。区域中心将与CICDC坐落在同一地点。

“We welcome the establishment of the IMF Regional Center in Shanghai,” said Pan Gongsheng, governor of the PBOC, China’s central bank. “We believe the center will deepen cooperation between the IMF and China, enhance macroeconomic policy exchange and coordination among Asia-Pacific countries, and support regional and global financial stability.”

中国人民银行行长潘功胜表示：“我们欢迎IMF在上海设立区域中心。我们相信，上海区域中心将深化IMF与中国的合作，增强亚太区域国家间宏观经济政策交流与协调，推动维护全球和区域金融稳定。”

“The center will further strengthen the IMF’s engagement in the dynamic Asia-Pacific region, deepen our understanding of perspectives from member countries, and foster international economic cooperation,” said Kristalina Georgieva, managing director of the IMF.

IMF总裁克里斯塔利娜·格奥尔基耶娃称：“该中心将进一步加强IMF在充满活力的亚太地区的工作，让我们更深入地理解成员国的观点，并促进国际经济合作。”

The IMF has 20 regional centers and offices worldwide, including the CICDC.

IMF目前在全球设有20个区域中心和办事处，包括CICDC。
